Seborrhoeic keratosis

Seborrhoeic keratosis is a very usual harmless skin condition that occurs during adult life. These may also be called basal cell villomas, doddering warts or brown warts. They can vary a great deal in their shape. Often they are circular but they can also be oval, or sometimes a more irregular shape. Seborrhoeic keratoses are non toxic and rarely or never become malignant. These are also known as barnacles or old age warts. Carbon dioxide laser treatment of this condition has often provided remarkable results by removing and dropping these disfiguring lesions.

At Beau Visage Skin Clinic, seborrhoeic keratosis are easily removed with the CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser surgery. The CO2 laser is assimilated with water in the wounds which evaporates them, inducing the lesions to crust up and fall off. There may be some remaining mild pinkness which fleets as the area heals. Most keratoses disappear in one treatment. Since seborrheic keratoses are hereditary, new lesions will develop over time. Once acquitted short annual or bi-annual treatments will assert clearance.
